30 Acts of Kindness that are Zero Waste

One Kind-hearted Lady

Acts of kindness, no matter how small, are very impactful.

There was this lady I knew. She lived in the small town community that I grew up in. And she was kind. Probably one of the kindest ladies you could ever meet.

It’s hard to explain, but you just felt like she sincerely cared about your life and everything in it, on every single occasion you met. Love and kindness radiated from her.

She passed away suddenly a few weeks ago, and everyone seems to have a story about how she impacted them in some way. She brought comfort and peace to so many local citizens, whether it was after a recent loss of a close relative or during a personal illness. Through just a knowing look and the squeeze of a hand, people felt truly empowered by her care and concern.

Maria was an immigrant; for a long while the only one in a relatively conservative town. She immigrated from South America as an international exchange student during the 60’s. She was an extremely hard worker, but she also suffered from chronic pain starting at a young age. However, all of that didn’t stop her from spreading kindness wherever she went.

And now an entire town is feeling her loss. There is no greater power or beauty than the feeling that someone sincerely cares. Wouldn’t we all like to be remembered for the joy we spread rather than the judgement and disregard?
